In picking each position, I wanted to assemble a cabinet that is eminently qualified for their positions-people with experience with their cabinet positions (unlike Ben Carson), people who are actually able to do the job (unlike Betsy DeVos), and who will act admirably in the position (unlike Jeff Sessions). I also wanted a cabinet that is representative of the United States, so you will see persons of color on this cabinet which are severely lacking in Trump's cabinet, some geographic diversity (though I do lean a bit harder on California than anywhere else), and a gender equilibrium between men and women (which is also severely lacking in Trump's cabinet, and quite frankly in every cabinet that's ever been assembled by a president in the United States). I will note that there is no LGBT person in this cabinet, but as I'm president in this hypothetical, I promise you-I have that covered. Without further adieu, here is whom I would pick for my "fantasy presidential cabinet."
(Couple of Side Notes: If you want to know what I'd have these cabinet secretaries do in office, read Monday's platform office. I also want to call out that these are the offices I think should be in the cabinet-I know that this differs from the cabinets pulled together by Presidents Bush, Obama, and Trump, and perhaps a rarity for me, I took ideas from all three to assemble this lineup of offices. I'm also aware that all of these people have had other previous experiences-I just listed the major ones, but they're all accomplished individuals you should research further as I think they are all fine leaders. Home state is more the state that either they grew up in or the state where they held public office-it's a little difficult to figure out, as happily a few of the individuals are born abroad, showing my administration's commitment to immigrants discovering their American dream. Finally, I didn't appoint any Republicans because I didn't want...if they wanted to stand up for bipartisanship, they wouldn't still be supporting Trump).
