I don’t get a lot of opportunities to write about my great love of adventuring, so I have to tip my hat to the incredible Diana Nyad, who Monday afternoon fulfilled a lifelong dream of becoming the first recorded person to swim from Cuba to Florida without a shark tank. This is a 110 mile journey (think about that while you sit on the couch taking a nap next weekend) that took 53 hours, and the 64-year-old Nyad had to make five attempts through the years to finally accomplish it. I tip my swimmer’s cap in her direction, as she, like all of the great adventurers, proves anything is possible.
